Vodafone Hutchison Australia

In Australia, Vodafone is operated by Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA), a 50:50 joint venture between Vodafone Group Plc and Hutchison 3G Australia. As at 30 June 2011, VHA had 7.2 million customers in Australia. Vodafone was awarded the third Australian mobile telecommunications carrier licence in December 1992. VHA now provides 3G coverage to 94 per cent of Australians, giving consumers and business affordable access to innovative 3G services, such as internet and email on their mobile phone, or laptop via Vodafone Mobile Broadband, on-the-move. Vodafone New Zealand

Vodafone New Zealand have more than 1300 mobile phone sites around New Zealand making up their mobile network, which covers 97% of where the population live, work and play. Vodafone Group acquired its New Zealand business (previously known as BellSouth New Zealand) in November 1998. At the time of purchase, Bellsouth had 138,000 customers.
